They came, they saw, they blogged. Across the nation, an army of amateur pundits descended on polling places, looked around, then raced to their keyboards to share their impressions with the world as voting began in what's been called the first blogged election. But with the polls closed - and network anchors, stung by the fiasco of 2000, showing unusual caution - the usually loquacious bloggers found themselves with little to say. They were as much in the dark as the rest of us: Vote counts were delayed by what appeared to be a record turnout, and "too close to call" became the mantra of the moment. Meint der Staff Writer vom "Philly Inquirer". Naja...

Da verbiegt sich sogar der Herr Rauscher, wenn es die Blattraison erfordert. Irgendwann kriecht die Lachsprosa so tief, bis sie invers am Fond des Spargelessens ankommt. Oder antizipiert der "Standard" schon das Schicksal der "Frankfurter Rundschau" und sieht einen Blatt-Kauf durch eine sozialdemokratische Holding als letzte Chance, den Bestand zu sichern?

Ist das die Rache der dpa an den Bloggern? Die Pointe an dem Link: Ein Weblog klaut die Agenturmeldung und baut sie mit dem dpa-Verweis auf die eigene Seite ein. Das ist schon eine besonders hohe Kunstform.
